The 2016 Holiday season has officially come to a close at Quarry Walk in Oxford, CT. As our cherry pickers box up the last of our lights and garland, we look back on the area's first look at what promises to be an exciting new symbol for the area.
While the most eye-catching and conversational piece was sure to be the massive, 35 foot tall stone tree, a light display on both the boulevard and the stone wall along Route 67 provided shoppers and commuters with some gorgeous holiday visuals. The tree, built by Haynes with stone from the Oxford site, was quite a spectacle! Plenty of residents in the area responded to our social media posts about their appreciation for the unique landmark. Some families even noted how the structure brought on a few dinner-time debates about what it actually was before it was finally decorated. A timelapse video of the construction process can be found here.
Another new Holiday event for the town of Oxford was Santa's visit to Ace Hardware. Residents from the area we able to bring in their families, friends, children, and pets to meet with Santa Claus on the weekends this past December and enjoy some hot cocoa and cookies!
We hope everyone enjoyed the displays this year and we can't wait to do even more in 2017! Please see the entire site, decorated and all, here.
